End Protection Amendment

    What do you want to happen: Extend the protection of neutrals inside their claims, to include both the nether and end due to them being unclaimable.

    Why should it happen: Too many times neutral players have been murdered as political leverage in the end while trying to play on the server. It's understandable that if we go to the wilderness or another persons' town that we could be killed. But the end/nether can't be claimed so we don't have anyway to get resources there safely as we would in the overworld.

    What will this bring to the server: Greater ability for neutrals to conduct their affairs peacefully in other worlds without fear of being suddenly jumped by an enemy.

    I feel at the moment, acting on this is entirely unnecessary.There isn't a good way to enforce this without doing one of these three things:
    • Adding another rule to the server
    • Enable Towny in the End and Nether for Neutrals
    • Give neutral players extra abilities while in the End or Nether to mitigate their risks
    I'm not a fan of adding this as a rule because it creates another thing to police, which takes away our attention from other necessary tasks such as policing our current rules or improving the server. It also will be counter to the point that the End and Nether are wilderness, where you should be prepared to die at a moments notice. By entering them, you consign yourself to whatever fate awaits you.

    As for enabling Towny in the End and Nether, this is not an option. The whole point of removing the ability to make claims in either world was to prevent abusive behaviors of powerhouses and neutral nations.

    Giving you extra abilities would be feasible, we could easily assign per-world permissions. The problem here arises when we consider that Neutrality isn't there to give you special privileges, it's simply for calling out that you do not wish to partake in PvP, would rather build, or would prefer to become the MC equivalent of Switzerland. It would also pose a threat of introducing exploits.

    My recommended solution is one you as a player can carry out: Hire bodyguards from another Nation to protect you and potentially save any drops. This both encourages economic circulation and good diplomacy without shifting agency away from non-neutral nations further.

    Grant's probably given the best example one could think of. Seems like everyone just forgets that you can do that, or decides to try without.
