    Overview:
This update would set a clearly defined “attacker” and “defender” role to wars, allowing for karma to be set based on the aggressiveness of a nation and/or its peacefulness. There would also be different types of wars a nation can declare on another nation, with different attributes/karma effects. And lastly there would be different types of surrender a nation and propose to the opposite nation to make peace talks actually more than just a ceasefire.

    Attacker/Defender roles:
Currently the system has it where one nation needs to ./n enemy another to declare war and begin flagging. And there is a cost to doing so currently, which doesn’t make sense since why should the defending nation need to pay a war cost to get their own lost claims back/counter offensive after the first attack.

What I propose is to essentially remove the ./n enemy command and replace it with a command like /n declarewar (nationname), which would then set them as the attacker and the other nation as defender, along with announcing it in chat. The declarewar command would cost money to do, just like enemying does currently but this would set both nations to enemy automatically without the defender paying the “declaration cost”, thus allowing the defender to counter attack.

    Nation command revamp:

Currently ./n shows your enemied nations but this would instead be changed to two sections: “attacking and defending” which displays what nations you are attacking and which you are defending from.

    Types of War:
Currently there is no differentiating the type of war you are declaring in any other way than “roleplaying”. This feature would be perhaps a cosmetic one or with small buffs that show when you ./n declarewar - like “Joeland has declared a Holy War on Mooseland”, etc. This could be used to add in certain peace options, such as not being able to annex towns/nation in Preventive wars.
    Types:
Preventive War - Done to contain a rising power
Preemptive War - Done to repel a seemingly inevitable invasion
Expansion War - Done to grow your nation/town
Border War - Done to secure your borders
Subjectation War - Done to puppet your enemy

    Implementation:
Maybe a GUI would pop up to show the types when you /n declarewar or maybe you can add it onto your declaration like /n declarewar (type) (nation).

    Types of Ending the War:
Currently there is no other to “end a war” other than both nations unenemying their opponents or one nations dies to annexation/taxes. This would add a dynamic to the server where nations can settle wars in official ways.

    Types:
This is a change from Mooses idea. I don't believe there should be "types" of surrenders, rather just options in a surrender menu. Example: Lasone has bested Nexus in war, and through the surrender option Lasone demands the town of Joeland, 50,000 cash, and a truce that bars the nations from fighting for up too a week.

    Implementation:
To surrender there would be two ways, one is that the losing nation can offer a type of surrender to the winner or the winning nation can offer a type of surrender they want the losing nation to do. To start with the losing nation offering surrender {/n isurrender (type) (nation)}, the winning nation would receive a request from the loser saying something like “Joeland is offering to conditionally surrender to your nation”, to which they can do /n acceptpeace (nation) - (or /n declinepeace (nation) to deny). As for offering a surrender to the losing nation the winners can do /n offersurrender (type) (nation) which would be a mail message that bothers the losing nations king until he responds with /n acceptsurrender (nation) or /n denysurrender (nation). Or maybe instead of mail you can check with /n surrenderlist which would show your surrender requests - useful if at war with multiple nations.

How to gain info on war types and surrender types:

Maybe either a GUI that would display blocks and when you hover over them it explains the type of war/surrender or a chat message that lists them and when you click one it sends you what it is in chat (./n wartypes - ./n surrendertypes)

    Possible other suggestion:
The area contiguous to a town’s homeblock is their “homeland” and ought to be, perhaps, more difficult to conquer (in terms of length of warflag timer). Plots that were recently conquered are more volatile (they’re in a warzone) and are quicker to conquer, perhaps especially by the historic owner of the plot. - Credited to Juxtaposition

    Different types of plots:
Core - this would be the land directly touching your homeblock, and within 3 plots of your homeblock, and take longer to conquer in terms of time. (Example- 5 minutes per flag). Core plots would have a “coring time” of maybe 24 hours to prevent people from moving their homeblocks around to their outposts freely. (Or they move them away from the place being attacked).

Non-Core - these would be plots you receive from overclaiming past 3 plots from the homeblock, or attached to an outpost. They would take the regular amount of time to flag and not be special. (Example - 3 minutes per flag)

Outposts - Outposts would be hardened “semi-core” plots that have a boosted defense to grant defenders time to protect it. (Example - 4 minutes)

Ravaged: Ravaged plots are plots that have been taken within the past 24 hours through warflagging. They have an incredibly weak defense to the nation that it was taken from. (Example: 45 seconds). After 24 hours these plots turn back into the plot prior to being flagged.

These types of plots would give both attackers and defenders different dynamics in their respective roles and allow towns to flourish more.

Thanks for being toxic on somebody trying to give you credit for some decent ideas.

He literally just removed the unnecessary toxicity from your posts and re-did it. Honestly, it makes it so much better.

Aren't the devs a) busy with life and b) already have current plugins to be updated and "new" ones in queue?

I actually like this idea, I want to see what the Developers think of it. I think it could be very interesting.
